Satellite Tracking163503 - Gulf Green Turtle Project 2016-2019 A project of Emirates Wildlife Society-WWF. Static Map | Zoom Map | Animated Map (14KB) ![]()
Background This adult female green was tagged by a joint team comprising Ministry of Environment and Climate Affairs rangers, 5Oceans and the Emirates Wildlife Society. She measured 102.7 cm in curved carapace length, and now carries a satellite transmitter (number 163503) to let us know of her use of nearshore waters during he interesting period (between this and subsequent nests), and later of her migration path and foraging grounds. This data will help us determine important habitat which might need conservation and/or management efforts. She also carries metal flipper tag number R62042 on her right front flipper.
SEATURTLE.ORG collaborates with Argos to help scientists and conservationists manage and analyse their valuable animal tracking data. ![]() ![]() |
