La giovane tartaruga Wave è stata catturata accidentalmente da una motonave attrezzata per la pesca a strascico a largo di Ravenna il 16 dicembre 2015. La tartaruga presentava varie escoriazioni al cranio con esposizione ossea, probabilmente dovute agli attrezzi da pesca. Dopo un periodo di cure è stata rilasciata a largo del porto di Ancona. Al rilascio Wave pesava 15,7 kg con una lunghezza curva del carapace di 52 cm.
La Regione Marche tramite la Rete di conservazione delle tartarughe e la Fondazione Cetacea, nell’ambito del progetto europeo Adriatic+, ha provveduto al rilascio della tartaruga.

Juvenile turtle Wave was accidentally captured by a fishing boat equipped for trawling off the coast of Ravenna on December 16, 2015. The turtle had various abrasions on the skull with bone exposure probably due to fishing gear. After a period of rehabilitation she was released offshore the port of Ancona when she was 52 cm CCL and weighed 15,7 kg.
The Regione Marche with the ‘Rete di conservazione delle tartarughe’ and ‘Fondazione cetacea’ , within the European project ‘Adriatic+’ proceeded to the release of the turtle.
