Background

This adult female green was tagged by a joint team comprising Ministry of Environment and Climate Affairs, EWS-WWF, 5Oceans and ESO. Her name, Zamzam, was kindly chosen by H.E Mohammed Bin Salem Al Tobi, Minister of Environment and Climate Affairs.

She measured 103.9 cm in curved carapace length, and now carries a satellite transmitter (number 160247) to let us know of her use of nearshore waters during he interesting period (between this and subsequent nests), and later of her migration path and foraging grounds. This data will help us determine important habitat which might need conservation and/or management efforts.
