A huge thank you to Ajman Palace for sponsoring TAPPY. This support is invaluable in helping us learn all we can about turtle behaviour and habitat use. These data will help us conserve sea turtles much more effectively, and we are extremely grateful to Ajman Palace for their support - and so is TAPPY!!!

TAPPY was caught via rodeo-style capture in the foraging grounds surrounding Bu Tinah Island, and within the Murawah Marine Protected Area and World Biosphere Reserve off Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates. She was fitted with a satellite transmitter to help identify important turtle areas off the coast of the UAE, and possibly also migration routes should she decide to reproduce. This work was conducted in partnership with the Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi, to whom we are extremely grateful for all assistance. The green turtle measured 102.9 cm in curved carapace length and was deemed an adult female turtle via laparoscopic inspection. She also carries an Inconel metal flipper tag number 0615 on her left front flipper so that we may recognise her in future years.

SEATURTLE.ORG collaborates with Argos to help scientists and conservationists manage and analyse their valuable animal tracking data.
