Background

Sandy is an adult female green turtle captured near Mangrove Bay in the Ningaloo Marine Park. She was measured and tagged on the beach at Ned's Camp with the help of volunteers from the Cape Conservation Group.

Sandy was tagged with flipper tags WB9868 (left) and WB9867 (right). She was 95.2 cm CCL and weighed 96.4 kg.

Sandy was examined with ultrasound and showed evidence of vitellogenic follicles, indicating that she should nest this season.
