Background

Lisa was captured in Sandy Bay, and tagged and released off the beach nearby. She was tagged with the assistance of staff from BHP.

When captured, Lisa had flipper tags WA2152 and WA2151 - these were attached on 1 March 1987 on John Wayne Beach, Barrow Island - and has not been seen since. When first tagged Lisa measured 97.5 cm CCL, and when we measured her 30 years later she was 99.2 cm. She weighed 126.7 kg!

Lisa was named after her namesake Lisa Morrison from ABC Northwest, who came to check out what we were doing the day before, and got experience getting close to a green turtle!
