Background

Lucy measured 46 cm curved carapace length. She was captured at the same time as an adult male loggerhead. These 2 turtle species inhabit the same feeding area in the Ten Thousand Islands and it would be interesting to know if they are eating the same foods. If so, there could be competition for resources. Lucy has been staying close to her capture site off Turtle Key, appropriately enough, occasionally making brief trips into the backwaters. The satellite tag is sponsored by David and Vicky Smith.
