Crackle made a huge progress and moved out of Long Island Sound! We are always a little worried when our turtles make it into Long Island Sound because they can get "trapped" there and cold stunned again. Crackle is way out in the ocean, seems like heading towards the canyons, however, I am anticipating he will turn west soon and head more south hugging the shore. I guess time will tell if I am right so please stay tuned and check in frequently! ~Julika (8/30/14)

Crackle stranded on November 23, 2013 at Thumpertown Beach in South Eastham, Cape Cod, MA. Crackle was cold stunned and dehydrated. Mass Audubon Society turtle beach patrol volunteers secured Crackle from the beach and transported him to the New England Aquarium rehabilitation facility in Quincy. After over eight months of rehabilitation and almost tripling its weight, Crackle was released back to the wild!
