Roman is a turtle that stranded as a hatchling in Albany along the South Coast. It was initially treated at Perth Zoo, and then transferred to rehabilitation at AQWA (the Aquarium of Western Australia). After a year of care, it was released from Exmouth near the rookeries of Eastern Indian Ocean loggerheads. A biopsy was taken to check genetics and determine its genetic stock which is probably WA in origin. However we are surprised on occasion by a waif turtle along the south coasts like Holly who had Oman genetic stock.
