Background

María Sofía II, es una Tortuga Carey sub adulta que se encontró en el arrecife de Playa Blanca en el Parque Nacional Coiba, Pacífico de Panamá. Su número de seguimiento por satélite es PNC-248/12673. María Sofía II fue marcada con una placa inconel (número JT 438 NOAA) y una marca PIT (Passive Integrated Transponder # 122208402A) en su aleta izquierda.

María Sofía II fue capturada el 4 de septiembre de 2017 y midió 65,5 cm de largo curvo de caparazón (LCC) y 57 cm de ancho curvo de caparazón (ACC), su peso fue de 32.65 kg al momento de liberarla. María Sofía II, ha sido nombrada en honor a la hija de uno de los investigadores principales de este proyecto.

María Sofía II, is a hawksbill sub adult turtle that was found on the reef of Playa Blanca in the Coiba National Park, Pacific of Panama. Its satellite tracking number is PNC-248/12673. María Sofía II was tagged with an inconel tag (number JT 438 NOAA) and a PIT (Passive Integrated Transponder # 122208402A) on its front left flipper.

María Sofía II was captured on September 4, 2017 and measured 65.5 cm long curved carapace (LCC) and 57 cm wide curved carapace (ACC), its weight was 32.65 kg at the time of release. María Sofía II, has been named after the daughter of one of the principal investigators of this project.
