Background

This is an adult female Kemp's ridley sea turtle that emerged to nest on July 21, 2010 on the beach of Rancho Nuevo, Tamaulipas, Mexico. This turtle was outfitted with a WILDLIFE COMPUTER MK10-Argos, Fast-GPS satellite transmitter tag. This turtle was named after Donna J. Shaver, Ph.D. with the National Park Service at Padre Island National Seashore.
