Thanks to funding from the National Parks Service, Natural Resource Damage Assessment (NRDA), Eileen is the first turtle outfitted by TAMUG’s Trophic Ecology and Sea Turtle Research Lab (TESTR)in 2013 with a Sirtrack KiwiSat 101 satellite transmitter as part of a collaborative study assessing potential impacts from the BP Deepwater Horizon oil spill on Kemp's ridley in the Gulf of Mexico. She was released at her nesting location later the same day.
