This is the first project to track a loggerhead turtle (Caretta caretta) from a Turkish nesting beach.

Project Partners

EKAD was built up in 2003 by Academicians and voluenteers research on environment. The Society attached the first satellite transmitters on green turtles (Chelonia mydas)in Turkey in collaboration with the Marine Turtle Research Group (University of Exeter,UK) and sponsored by BTC Environmental İnvestment Programme Sea Turtle Expedition Project in 2003-2005. Four units were attached in 2004 and a furhter four in 2005. These tracks can also be seen on under archived projects.
