National Aquarium Animal Rescue is federally authorized to rescue, rehabilitate and release stranded sea turtles and marine mammals. Through stranding response, we strive to improve our understanding of ocean health and in turn, promote stewardship of the ocean and coastal environment. With each case, we improve our understanding of marine mammals and sea turtles and the impact humans are making on their lives.

The National Aquarium, a non-profit organization, is Maryland’s most exciting and popular cultural attraction, as well as one of the region’s leading conservation and education resources, hosting more than 1.6 million visitors per year. The Aquarium’s mission is to inspire conservation of the world's aquatic treasures. It is dedicated to education and conservation through more than a dozen programs that serve the environment and the community.
