Beach Description


Caswell Beach is located on the eastern end of Oak Island, to the west of the Cape Fear river. Volunteers in Caswell Beach have been monitoring and protecting sea turtle nests since 1981. Currently, the Caswell Beach Turtle Watch program patrols about 3 miles of beach on Caswell Beach, about a mile and a half of beach in front of Fort Caswell at the eastern terminal end of the island, and about half of a mile of river front beach in Southport.
