The Caribbean Stranding Network has so far been established in Puerto Rico, the U. S. Virgin Islands, the British Virgin Islands, the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, and Colombia. The Network reports cases of stranded marine mammals, sea turtles, and sea birds. The Network also attempts to rescue and rehabilitate sick or injured animals. We are looking for persons and/or organizations interested in participating, and who would be willing to assemble and coordinate a rapid action team in their particular Caribbean country or island. Marine wildlife salvage and rescue training for interested groups can be arranged. For more information, please contact the CAAHP at the address above.
