Loggerhead with longline hook eye protruding from mouth

This juvenile loggerhead was found alive in a pound net in Pamlico Sound, NC. It was hypothermic and had a long-line hook embedded in its tongue. It was treated by NCSU-CVM and transferred to the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center for care.
