First record of the Basking Shark (Cetorhinus maximus) in Syria

The Basking shark is not a target for Mediterranean fishery, but it Was recorded near the "RAS AL-BASEET" coastal water As a bycatch (incidental catches) in "anchored" floating gillnet: Length 150 meters, 14 meters high and 4.5 cm mesh.
