Papi (UUN701)

"Papi" (UUN701) is a subadult (64.8 cm SCL) green sea turtle captured 10 August 2010 during STFERL entanglement netting operations in the Mexiquita Flats area of the Lower Laguna Madre (LLM), adjacent to Port Isabel, TX. This turtle was one of 11 greens (out of 33) captured in August 2010 exhibiting fibropapilloma (FP) tumors, with this assemblage representing the first documented live, non-stranded case of FP in Texas. It was outfitted with a Sirtrack KiwiSat 101 satellite transmitter and released in the LLM at its original capture location on 2 October 2010.
