Public Sea Turtle Watches

One of the most frequent questions I get is "where can I go to see sea turtles." This is a bit of a tricky topic. Sea turtles require special treatment because they are protected by the Endangered Species Act and various local and international laws. You can't just tell people where turtles are so they can go see them on their own.

Fortunately there are a number of places that people can go to see sea turtles in a controlled setting. Accredited aquaria are a perfect example. But you can't beat the experience and educational potential of seeing turtles in the wild (so to speak).

I just happened across a great resource on the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission website. A list of organizations permitted to conduct public sea turtle walks.

It strikes me that a centralized database of institutions with organized activities where the public can see sea turtles would be a very valuable resource.

Hmm...

If anyone knows of similar resources available for other states or countries, please let me know.

I haven't actually seen the movie. Has anyone out there seen it, and what did you think?
