Light Pollution Question

An interesting question posted to the seaturtle.org forums. I wonder if any readers would like to respond to Zack. I was reading the book Voyage of the Turtle by Carl Safina. About the issue of light pollution disorienting the hatchling turtles, is there a reason we cannot build bright light poles in the surf to direct hatchlings seaward in areas that are affected by light pollution? Or would that interfere with nesting females?
